I'm not really sure how to begin this as a topic, it's more of a random thought. I've noticed that Anne Rice is "pretty much..." the only one who does not use shapeshifting as an attribute to her characters. I could be mistaken, but I cannot recall any of them being a shapeshifter.
However, there are the ones that do shapeshift....like Dracula...whom usually manifests himself as a bat or a wolf. I don't know....it's just a pretty intersting subject for being a random...

Just finished this great book and thought I'd share - Wynette Hoffman's Blood is Thicker Than Water, first book in a series called the Reilly Vampire Chronicles. Next one comes out this fall or winter. It's a very fun read, she's one of my favorite authors now. From the back of the book:

"This book contains the following elements which may be considered unsuitable by some readers and literary purists: violence, graphic sex, erotic blood sucking, foul language, gore, angst,...

Chapter 18 is where it really picks up in excitement and anticipation of what is to come.
Hi all!
I've been on a reading binge lately with Anne Rice's Chronicles. Only three books left in the series. Next on my reading list is Stoker's Dracula, Dante's Divine Comedy, and Galileo's Dialogue (I know the last two are not vampire related, but I find the subject matter strangely compelling. Especially since Galileo faced possible wicked physical torture by the Vatican Inquisition for this particular writing. The whole science vs. self-righteous religious sect intrigues...
